Fan 2016 is an Indian thriller film directed by Maneesh Sharma and featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The soundtrack album and original score are composed by both Vishal–Shekhar and Andrea Guerra. The film is scheduled for release on 15 April 2016. 

On 16 December 2013, Yash Raj Films announced the project with Shah Rukh Khan as the main lead and Maneesh Sharma as the director. On 25 March 2014, it was announced that Greg Cannom is going to develop the look of Khan in the film. Khan underwent 3D scanning for his look as a young boy. Though it had at one time been reported that Khan was scheduled to play a 17-year-old boy in the film, Khan later denied the claim. Principal photography of the film began in July 2014. The film was shot in Mumbai, Croatia, London and Delhi. The film is the first ever to be shot at the Madame Tussauds in London.On 7 August 2015, it was announced that the filming of the project was completed. Fan was scheduled to release in early 2015, but owing to the injuries sustained by Khan during the filming of Happy New Year, the film’s release date was postponed to 14 August 2015.The post-production work involving complex visual effects pushed the release of Fan once again to early 2016. Now the film is scheduled for release on 15 April 2016. The music for Fan is composed by Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics written by Varun Grover. The first song Jabra Fan, was released on 16 February 2016. The full soundtrack album was released on 22 February 2016 which included 8 songs, all of which were different versions of the song Jabra Fan. The song was in 8 different prominent Indian languages sung by regional singers.

In 2014, Mort had begun taking legal action after being cut of the decision-making process making her unhappy with the project she spent several years developing. In September 2015, RLJ Entertainment acquired U.S distribution rights to the film with a planned December 2015 release. The film is scheduled to be released on April 22, 2016, in a limited release and through video on demand. Robert L. Johnson the chairman and founder of RLJ gave a statement saying: Zoe Saldana delivers an exceptional and mesmerizing tribute to Nina Simone, She gave her heart and soul to the role and displayed her extraordinary talent, the most important thing is that creativity or quality of performance should never be judged on the basis of color, or ethnicity, or physical likeness. Quality entertainment should be measured by the sheer force of creativity and the commitment that an actor or actress brings to the performance.
